Area golfers will have a chance to swing their clubs for a good cause come Friday – that’s when Tennessee Bible College will be holding its annual fundraising golf scramble.
The TBC Golf Scramble begins at noon at White Plains Golf Course, 4000 Plantation Drive, Cookeville. Teams should register with TBC by noon on the day of the scramble, Friday, April 29. The cost is $300 per four-man team, with proceeds going directly to fund programs at TBC.
“Area golfers contribute just by their presence,” said TBC President David Hill. “They are helping to support Christian education at TBC.”
So the more, the merrier, he said.
“The golf scramble is a lot of fun with a very forgiving format. With a four-man team, everyone has an opportunity to contribute and even get by with a bad golf shot or two.”
Trophies are awarded to winning team members, as well as individual golfers for “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Hole.”
The TBC Golf Scramble is held each year in conjunction with the college’s Spiritual Renewal Lectureship. The program begins at 7 p.m. on the night of the golf scramble and continues throughout Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 1, on the campus of TBC, 1616 McCulley Road, Cookeville. This year’s theme is “Bible Principles to be Followed in Christian Unity.” The schedule is available at www.tn-biblecollege.edu.
Hill said, “More important than the golf scramble is the annual Spiritual Renewal Lectureship. We will have excellent speakers from around the country and good Christian fellowship. It is a time to recharge your spiritual battery.”
Tennessee Bible College offers a bachelor’s degree in religious education, master’s and doctorate degrees in theology and a two-year diploma in biblical studies. TBC also offers an online college.
