Kerry Duke presents the bachelor's degree in religious education to Michael Hogan, a Distance Learning student who completed studies for his degree in 2006 but walked through the graduation line on June 15 with the Class of 2007. Hogan is now in the master's program at TBC.
Jamie Kang of Wuhan, China, accepts his two-year preaching diploma from Kerry Duke. Kang has been a full-time, on-campus student since 2005.
Kerry Duke presents a two-year preaching diploma to Mark Day of Algood, Tenn. Day came to TBC from Indianapolis, Ind., and has been a full-time, on-campus student. He plans to continue his education at TBC and pursue a bachelor's degree in religious education.
Earl Alverson of Sparta, Tenn., receives a two-year preaching diploma from Kerry Duke. Alverson is the First TBC student to have started the Distance Learning Program with zero credit hours and work his way through to completion. It's a feat, says Duke, that requires much self-discipline on the part of a student.
Since they were unable to attend the TBC ceremony in person, the Distance Learning graduates from Zambia, Africa, participated by recording messages that were played during graduation. Their photos were also shown. The Zambian graduates include Webby Kenabanyama, Godfrey Pitika, and Joseph Andson Tembo.
Tony Li of Wuhan, China, who was unable to attend graduation in person, earned a bachelor's degree in religious education. Li had been a full-time campus student at TBC before returning home to China in March. He completed his degree through Distance Learning.
