TBC trains preachers and Christian workers solely through donations from area churches, businesses and private individuals. The school generated $17,000 through its recent annual contribution drive.

COOKEVILLE—An annual contribution drive for Tennessee Bible College has resulted in $17,000 in donations from area churches, businesses and individuals committed to the school's evangelism effort.

"There is no greater way in the world to do mission work than to train gospel preachers and teachers," said TBC President Malcolm Hill.

One of the major contributors, the Northeast Church of Christ, held its own drive simultaneously with that of TBC, collecting $13,000 on Nov. 26.

TBC will use its contribution funds to train preachers and Christian workers in Bible doctrine, apologetics and evangelism. The college offers a bachelor's degree in religious education, master's and doctorate degrees in theology and a two-year preacher's diploma. Distance learning courses are also offered.

Monetary donations such as those generated during TBC's annual contribution drive are necessary to keep the doors open since the privately operated school accepts no government funding.

"When the government steps into whatever work is out there, they call the shots," Hill said.

"We have no other income from any outside source other than free-will gifts from individuals, churches, businesses and so forth."

He added, "We are thankful, and in the name of Christ, we express our deepest gratitude to anyone who has given to Tennessee Bible College. Every dime counts, and we appreciate everybody who helps us."
