COOKEVILLE — "Come Let Us Reason Together" is the theme for Tennessee Bible College's 13th annual Leadership Day, which is set for Saturday, Feb. 23, at the college campus in Cookeville.

The day's schedule is as follows:

'Reasoning together' on Feb. 23
Leading the singing during Tennessee Bible College's 2007 Leadership Day event is David Hill, the school's public relations director. This year's sessions, which are open to everyone, will be held Feb. 23. The theme is "Come Let Us Reason Together." For more information, call 526-2616.

Malcolm Hill, president of TBC, said, "The purpose of Leadership Day has been and continues to be an enlightening session for church leaders, dedicated Christians, Bible teachers and all who would like to know more about how they can serve the good Lord better."

Hill said this year's theme is based on the Bible passage Isaiah 1:18.

"Isaiah told the people, 'Come now, and let us reason together,'" Hill said. "He was trying to get the people to reason about God's ways and apply those ways to their life so they could become purer and more acceptable before Him."

The same concept still applies today, he said.

"There are always prevailing situations — things that aren't understood well — that can hinder the church," Hill said. "What we're trying to do in these Leadership Day sessions is set things in order and make clear what is acceptable to God and what is not."

"Not everybody studies and interprets the Bible as they ought to. So we want to teach individuals to get their Bibles and rightly divide the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15), to act and react based on truth, and to walk in the truth."

Hill stressed that TBC's Leadership Day event is open to everyone — not just preachers, elders, deacons and Bible class teachers.

"Anyone from any religious affiliation or background is welcome to attend these sessions," he said. "It's nothing more than a Bible study session, and everybody should be interested in what the Bible says."

Tennessee Bible College, located at 1616 McCulley Road in Cookeville, offers a bachelor's degree in religious education, master's and doctorate degrees in theology and a two-year preaching diploma. A distance learning program and free Bible correspondence courses are also available.
