COOKEVILLE—Tennessee Bible College has named five new members to its board of trustees, including David Hill of Cookeville.

Hill, along with Roy McConnell of Goodlettsville, Fred Jones of Greenbrier, Mike Ellis of Columbia, Ky., and Larry Tim Ross of Tompkinsville, Ky., brings the total number of TBC board members to 10.

They join current members Gary Worley and John Houser, both of Livingston, Earl Hampton of Johnson City, Veachel Harlan of Tompkinsville, and Tonis Davis of Florence, Ala., in an effort to direct the Christian college in its academic and spiritual endeavors.

"I feel that these new members will help the school in a number of ways," said TBC President Malcolm Hill. "They are men of business and men of good understanding in various fields, which gives the school the ability to consider many areas which we would otherwise not know about."

Board member David Hill is no stranger to TBC, having served as the college's business manager and public relations director for 17 years.

"I'm happy to be part of the board," Hill said. "It's been a very important part of the operation of the school, and I appreciate the service, sacrifice and dedication of the men who are committed to serving."

Hill is a 1986 graduate of Tennessee Tech University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business management and is a candidate for a master's degree in theology from TBC. He and his wife, Lisa, attend Northeast Church of Christ, where he serves as an elder and song leader. He preaches by appointment and also serves on the board of trustees for Tennessee Christian School, a private pre-kindergarten through 8th-grade school currently in the planning stages.

Board member McConnell and wife Nan are members of Robertson County Church of Christ, where he preaches. He is a graduate of David Lipscomb University. Board member Jones, who also attends Robertson County Church of Christ, is a former church elder.

Board member Ellis and wife Peggy attend Columbia Church of Christ. Board member Ross attends Tompkinsville Church of Christ with his wife, Judy. He has led church singing for 47 years.

Tennessee Bible College, located at 1616 McCulley Road in Cookeville, was established in 1975 and is dedicated to training Bible preachers and Christian workers in Bible doctrine, apologetics and evangelism. The school is authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission to confer the bachelor's degree in religious education, the master's and doctorate degree in theology and a two-year preacher's certificate. Distance learning courses are also offered.
