TBC releases president's and dean's lists

COOKEVILLE — Tennessee Bible College has released its president's and dean's lists for the 2007 fall quarter.

On the president's list are Joshua Brown of Bowling Green, Ky., and Chris Thomas and Mark Day, both of Cookeville. To be named to this list, a full-time student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average for the quarter.

Brown, son of Michael and Brenda Brown of Bowling Green, is a 2001 graduate of Greenwood High School in Kentucky. He is planning a career in pulpit ministry.

Thomas, son of Roger and Barbara Thomas of Cookeville, graduated in 1991 from Cookeville High School. He is near completion of his two-year diploma from TBC and is also planning to pursue a degree in counseling and psychology from Tennessee Tech University. He and his wife, Tonya, reside in Cookeville.

Day is the son of Anita Page of Indianapolis, Ind., and a 2004 graduate of Whiteland Community High School in Indiana. He preaches at Midway Church of Christ near Spencer and serves as TBC's video production assistant. He and his wife, Alissa, reside in Cookeville.

The TBC dean's list includes Edward Davis of Chicago, Ill., and Midea Liao of Xi Tao City, China.

Davis is the son of Elinor and James Davis of Chicago. He is a 2002 graduate of Thornwood High School and also holds a bachelor of arts degree in digital media technology from Columbia College in Chicago. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in religious education from TBC, he plans to become an evangelist, preacher or a teacher at a Christian school.

Liao, daughter of Guanghao Liao and Qunxiang Deng of China, is a 2001 high school graduate. In 2005, she graduated from South-Central University for Nationalities in Wuhan, China, where she majored in English language and literature, and also from Zhangnan University of Law and Economics, where she minored in accounting. When she returns to China, she plans to become a teacher.

Students on the dean's list must be full-time and have a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the quarter.

"As the president of Tennessee Bible College, I'm very thankful for every student," said Malcolm Hill, who founded the college in 1975. "But I am especially grateful for those who do excellent in their studies. We commend these students who are on the president's and dean's lists for their good work."

Tennessee Bible College, located at 1616 McCulley Road in Cookeville, offers a bachelor's degree in religious education, master's and doctorate degrees in theology and a two-year preaching diploma. Distance learning courses are also offered.
