COOKEVILLE — Bible classes, devotionals, fellowship and lots of fun will be the focus at Tennessee Bible College come July 12-15. That's when the college hosts its 11th annual Truth Bible Camp.
Children ages 12-18 are welcome as full-time overnight campers, and ages 9-11 can join in as day campers from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Truth Bible Camp includes Bible classes, devotionals, lessons on Christian living, sermon preparation classes, Christian service training and more, plus a variety of sports and other activities.
"It's a fast and furious week of activities, and we're already having a good response from kids wanting to come," said camp director David Hill. "Word of mouth from previous camps has been excellent. We're building a real following."
Hill said the purpose of the camp is to train future leaders in the church.
"We believe the campers will go back and be an asset to their home congregations because they'll have some knowledge they can put into action. We want to equip them with information and tools to help them be well suited for work and service in the kingdom of God."
Camp reservations may be made by calling TBC at (931)526-2616. The deadline is Monday, July 6. Registration is at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at TBC.
Prior to registration on Sunday, campers and their families are invited to attend the 9 a.m. Bible study and 10 a.m. worship service at Northeast Church of Christ, located next door to the college. Camp concludes on Wednesday at the church, with young men from the camp conducting the 7 p.m. Bible study service.
The cost is $25 per full-time camper, which includes meals, Bible class materials and recreation costs. Day camp for ages 9-11 is $15.
Hill stressed that sponsorships are available for campers unable to pay the fee; however, space is limited. Those in need should call him as soon as possible at 526-2616.
