Any other web browser that is standards-based should work as well except for IE (Microsoft Internet Explorer). IE will mostly work but you may experience the occasional display oddity where something is not formatted properly.
This website is written to proper standards and validates as proper using validators designed by those who are responsible for those standards. IE has fairly poor support for advanced standards-based Internet technologies and you should seriously consider downloading and installing one of the browsers above; otherwise some of these web pages may not display properly.
The Internet works for the simple reason that it is built on well-defined rules that specify how each computer should communicate and interpret communication that it receives from another computer on the Internet. Imagine the chaos on the roads if everyone made up their own rules to drive by. Unfortunately IE only mostly obeys the rules and that causes problems which is why we recommend using a different browser.
Many people use IE because it is included with their computer. The bad thing about that is due to its popularity some people who design websites naïvely write their code to work with IE without concern or knowledge of proper internet standards which tends to cause things not to work properly for the good citizens on the Internet. So what's a person to do? Since you can install and use as many web browsers on your computer as you'd like we recommend installing and using one of the above browsers for all of your normal internet use and only use IE when you have to because you've happened to run across the occasional website that doesn't work because it is written in the non-standard language that only IE understands.
