This year’s Truth Bible Camp will show campers “the way to church.”

The camp, now in its 24th year, welcomes ages 9-18 to experience a time of spiritual growth and development June 13-17 on the campus of Tennessee Bible College.

“Classes are designed to teach young people the importance of assembling for worship,” TBC Vice President Kerry Duke said of the camp theme, which is based on his newest book in TBC’s Pillars of the Faith series for Christian youth. “If there ever was a time when people, especially young people, need to be taught this, it is now.”

Full-time, overnight camp is open to ages 12-18. These campers participate in daily devotionals, Bible classes, sermon preparation (young men), Bible lesson preparation (young women), community service projects and recreational activities. Registration is $25 and includes meals. Check-in is June 13 at 4 p.m.

Day camp, which is for ages 9-11, begins June 14 at 8 a.m. Participants receive age-appropriate training in Christian living and have fun with outdoor games and craft activities. Hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Registration is $15, which includes meals.

Duke said his soon-to-be published book, which campers will be studying, examines what the Scriptures teach about assembling for worship.

“The church in the Bible is not a building. It is people – people who have been bought by the blood of Christ and added to the church after being baptized for the remission of sins,” he said. “At the same time, the church is made up of local congregations, and those congregations are to assemble regularly on Sunday for worship. These assemblies are the lifeblood of the congregation.”
Abbey Strong, who was recognized as Truth Bible Camp’s “Most Christlike” camper in 2020, is thankful for what she gained at camp.

“Truth Bible Camp is important to me because it taught me as a young Christian how to evangelize and teach others about Christ in my school, work and community,” she said.

Her favorite things about camp were the relationships she built with fellow campers from across Tennessee and other states as well as the knowledge she gained from Christian leaders at camp.

“I hope everyone in our community is able to take advantage of this wonderful camp, as it has prepared me for almost every circumstance I have found myself in,” she said.

Truth Bible Camp will conclude June 17 at 7 p.m. with an evening service at Northeast Church of Christ, next door to TBC.
