I do not remember a time in my life when I didn’t know the verse “red and yellow black and white, they are precious in His sight.” My parents brought me into the world singing to me Jesus Loves the Little Children. I am convinced they meant every word they were singing by the lives they lived before me, and wanted me to know and believe it. The Apostle Paul told the philosophers on Mars Hill in ancient Athens of the Creator who created all men of every nation of one blood (Acts 17:26). Jesus Christ the Lord came to break down barriers and make all one. In His earthly ministry He charged all followers to declare His Gospel to every creature in every nation—the great commission! There is no respect of persons with God (Rom. 2:11).

In the politically divisive times of the present, Christians have the answer to real peace. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ which makes all one (Gal. 3:28). The very thing that plagued society and the church 2,000 years ago is plaguing us today. Solomon wisely observed there is nothing new under the sun. Our country is not in something all new. It’s been a persisting problem throughout the ages. Politics, corruption and racism have always been around and will only be eliminated when all souls are truly converted to Christ. That was the answer then, and is the answer now. All the money in the world will not change it. Tearing down every statue, burning every city, and spray-painting every building will not change one sinful heart. Only the Gospel of Christ has that power (Rom. 1:16).

It is disheartening and disappointing to see brethren attempt to play around with the politics of the day. I guess thinking they’ll gain a crafty, cute advantage, some have tried to use organizational names as slogans only to be challenged by the evil stance associated with what some folks believe to be just a slogan. Why would Gospel preachers, elders, and members trade the dynamite of the Gospel for the fools’ pyrite of a divisive man-made movement that ultimately seeks the destruction of Christianity? Such antics most often bring on more questions than answers, and as the disoriented writer begins answering to try to explain, well, all attempts are lost along with any hope of the pure Gospel being heard. It is sad indeed.

For 45 years TBC has been here with the primary focus of preparing men and women, boys and girls for the very times we find ourselves in today—a time when philosophy is exalted over scripture. A time when evil is depicted as good and good as evil. The founders of this institution saw something others didn’t; they saw a secular society on the horizon and designed a curriculum to try and head it off before Christians were pulled aside. Perhaps that’s why the devil has fought against our work like he has? Could it be there was and is something here that threatens his evil work? Thankfully, the Lord has been mindful of us and sustained us. We’re still following the game plan and teaching the Truth.

Don’t be hoodwinked, bumfuzzled or otherwise confused and discouraged. Our hope is in Christ, salvation in obedient faith, and in Christ all souls matter!
