One is struck by the fact the whole movement to promote homosexuality has coalesced behind the rubric of “pride.” Why the push to let everyone know they take pride in the practice? Is there anything else like that? Can you imagine people deciding honesty is great and that we should have pride marches to promote truth telling, and designate an Honesty Pride Month each year? What about a marital faithfulness pride march, along with a special flag to promote pride infidelity? How about a love your child pride organization? Why don’t we see those kinds of movements? We don’t see them because honesty and faithfulness and loving your child are universally acknowledged as normal, good, right, and the way things ought to be. The reason homosexuality associates itself with “pride” is because it is not normal or right, but still wants to horn its way into public as something that is praiseworthy. So its advocates talk themselves into believing it is a practice they should be able to take “pride” in. It lessens the guilt and shame of perversion, while making the practice easier to sell to the rest of the country. After all, if they can be proud about unnatural sexuality, it must not be all that bad, right? Win-win for them. Now the rest of us know, automatically, when we see a rainbow logo, or see the word “pride” describing an event, we are to associate it with homosexuality. We have been conditioned by constant reminder. Our tolerance is demanded, or else we will not be tolerated. God’s truth is that

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18, ESV).
“For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error” (Romans 1:26-27).
