A Jubilee Year and a Hopeful Future

Jan 1, 2026 | Featured

As we begin 2026, Tennessee Bible College reflects on a remarkable milestone50 years of training preachers, equipping Christians, and serving the Lord’s kingdom. President David Hill has often described this moment as a true biblical jubilee: a time of gratitude, reflection, and renewed purpose. “The Lord has blessed us to the half-century mark and with thanksgiving we shall rejoice,” he said.

From its beginning in 1975 as a night school founded by gospel preacher Malcolm Hill, TBC set its course with one unwavering principle: “No worthy student will be turned away.” That commitment, along with a steadfast belief in the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, still defines the College today. “We make no apologies for that stance and we have no intention of changing,” noted Vice President Kerry Duke.

Over the decades, TBC grew from evening classes to a full Christian higher-education institution, building a permanent campus and achieving debt-free status while keeping its mission pure and its focus clear. Opportunities soon extended far beyond Cookeville—opening doors for mission work, teaching, and publications reaching more than a dozen countries.

Along the way, God blessed the College with unexpected avenues of influence. Singing From the Heart, a Dove Award–winning a cappella album created in partnership with Jamie Dailey of Dailey & Vincent, has funded a scholarship surpassing $50,000—all dedicated to helping students prepare for work in the Kingdom.

Today, the College continues to meet modern challenges through Scripture-centered programs, including graduate studies on Marxism, Islam, gender, and other pressing topics. Advanced Zoom technology allows students around the world to participate in live classroom discussions, making Christian higher education more accessible than ever.

In 2024, TBC expanded its outreach through the TBC Podcast Network, reviving One Gospel Minute and launching My God and My Neighbor to share biblical teaching with a global audience. The introduction of the TBC Alumni Association in 2025 strengthened relationships with graduates who are now serving faithfully in congregations and communities across the world. Enrollment continues to grow, with 124 students enrolled across all programs in the most recent term.

Looking ahead, Tennessee Bible College is preparing for campus improvements and broadening opportunities for both online and on-campus learners. And parents and congregations—get ready: Truth Bible Camp is gearing up for another powerful year. Each summer, young people spend nearly 20 hours in Bible study, build lifelong friendships, and grow in their commitment to Christ. Registration opens early for members of the church on March 1, so we encourage you to make plans now to send your youth for another unforgettable week grounded in God’s Word.

As we open this new year, we thank God for His blessings—and we thank you for reading, supporting, sharing, praying, and standing with us. Your encouragement strengthens this work more than you know.

With gratitude for the past and anticipation for the future, Tennessee Bible College looks forward to the next fifty years of teaching the truth and preparing Christians to carry the Gospel into every corner of the world.

Thank you for another wonderful year. May God bless you in 2026 and beyond.
