David Hill: Those who believe will be baptized for the remission of their sins. That’s what Jesus said (Mark 16:16). Got a minute? Some say, “I don’t believe water’s got anything to do with it.” The Holy Spirit said it does (Acts 8:36). Others will say, “Faith only.” But God didn’t. He said it’s obedient faith in action. “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved” (Mark 16:16).
Now, the Bible does not teach that one can believe just anything. No, “he that believeth,” that is, takes God at His Word, will be humbly obedient to all the New Testament, including what the New Testament teaches on water baptism for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). Some say they believe in water baptism but don’t believe it saves. (I Peter 3:21) says it does.
Who will you believe? What would it be like if everyone would just take the Bible, and the Bible only, and follow it—not adding to or taking from it? That’s the only way. That’s the Gospel. I’m David Hill.
