My friends, as Christians, we are commanded to give our best effort.  In fact, we should want to give our best effort, because we have all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3).  Having this knowledge, should motivate us to want to give our best effort.

As Christians we have received the forgiveness of our sins (Acts 2:38).  We are a part of the family of God (I Timothy 3:15).  We are walking in the Way that God has called us to walk through His Word, therefore we are living this life in the best way and in the way to bring the most happiness (John 10:10).  As Christians we know that we have the ability to pray and have our prayers answered by God (I Peter 3:12).  As Christians, we have fellowship with God and with our brothers and sisters in Christ (I John 1:7).  We have people to help us bear our burdens, and we have a Savior upon Whom we can cast all of our cares (Galatians 6:2, I Peter 5:7).  We also have the privilege of worshipping the Father (John 4:24).  We know that all things work together for our good, because we love the Lord (Romans 8:28).  We also know that we have the hope of eternal life and a mansion on reserve for us in Heaven (Titus 3:7, I Peter 1:4).     Knowing all of these things, we ought to want to give our God our very best each and every day that we have!  We ought to have the motivation to do so!  Look at what God has done and still does for us!

Ecclesiastes 9:10 tells us that whatever our hand finds to do, we should do it with all our might.  Colossians 3:23 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”.   Friends, this means that we must be the best workers we can be in every way.

In the church, we ought to be giving our best effort, serving God with all our hearts.  Psalm 111:1 says, “Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.”  Also, in our homes, we should be doing the best we can.  If you are married, then as a husband, you ought to be serving as the head of the house in a loving and beneficial way for all in your household (Ephesians 5:23).  If you are a wife, you should be the best helpmeet you can be by loving and obeying your husband as he leads you in ways in accordance with the Word of God (Colossians 3:18).  If you are a father or a mother, you need to be bringing up your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4, I Timothy 5:14).  Children should also be honoring their parents (Ephesians 6:1-3).  As an employee or employer, a Christian should be performing his or her tasks in a loving and beneficial way for all, giving his or her 100% to do the best he or she can do.  We should help our country by teaching the Word unto others (Matthew 28:18-20).

We need to be giving 100% in our efforts.  As Christians, we are Followers of Christ!  He gave His best.  Let us do our best in everything!
