In the Bible, the Jubilee is a year of celebration, rest, and liberation that comes every fifty years. Debts were forgiven, slaves were freed, people were allowed to return to their own property. It occurred every fifty years (Leviticus 25:8ff).

This year of reflection was important to the people of Israel. They could then remember all that God had blessed them with for the past 49 years.

In this year at Tennessee Bible College we celebrate fifty years of operation. Many have been the blessings that have come our way in our efforts to prepare men to preach the Gospel and to prepare all to teach the Way of the Lord.

My work began 45 years ago, in 1980. It was by brother Malcolm Hill’s invitation and insistence that I came to work in the College. I was benefited beyond measure with the leadership of brother Hill. He was my dear friend and brother in Christ. I have never seen a Christian man more dedicated to his work than bro. Hill. He literally sacrificed his time and financial means to establish and maintain the College. He is remembered by all who really knew him as one who put the cause of Christ first in his work as a Gospel preacher, Elder of the Northeast church of Christ, and as an able and effective President of the College. He was the founder of the College and served as its president as long as his health allowed. I will always be thankful for his friendship and support of my work. Through Bro. Hill’s effort many good and able men served on the faculty of Tennessee Bible College through the years.

Men are serving in many parts of the world who received their training at the College. The fruits continue to be counted. Only time will tell the good that has been accomplished by the efforts of the faculty and staff of Tennessee Bible College.

Bro. David Hill, son of brother Malcolm has served as President of the College since the resignation of brother Malcolm. Brother David continues in a splendid way to follow the goals and directions that have always been the guides with the College. Those who have financially supported the College have made all the efforts successful. The Northeast church of Christ has always had as its main mission work the efforts of the College. We remember all the efforts and prayers of so many for the ongoing of the College. We are thankful for all who have gone before to make the work possible. We are most thankful to our God to whom we give all the glory.
