Christian education.  There is no more important education that can be offered in this world.  While education in the secular realm has its benefits for it is important to know mathematics, English, true science, and our history as a country and as a world, yet education in the spiritual is even more important.  There is certainly coming a day when the things of this life will be no more, and we shall stand in Judgment for how we have lived our lives upon the earth.  Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 still says, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”  Friends, it is at that time, that we will be judged by the Gospel (John 12:48).

II Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”  All that we need to know in order to go to Heaven was revealed in the First Century.  Where is this found?  It is found in the Holy Scriptures, because II Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”  “Inspiration” means breathed.  All Scripture was breathed of God and makes the man of God complete thoroughly equipping him for every good work.  There is no work that we must do in this life in order to go to Heaven that is not told unto us in the Holy Scriptures.  The Holy Scriptures are from God, Who has all authority.  He has told us what to do then in them, thus they are all authoritative.  We need nothing more than what is given unto us in the Bible in order to know what to do to be saved and in fact, more than this would be too much, and in fact, less than this would be too little.  Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.  We ought to commit our lives to the study of this Book.  We ought to have the goal of being life-long learners of God’s Word, and then having the goal of learning even more when we reach our Heavenly home for as the song says, “Farther along, we will know all about it.”

Friends, in our homes, we ought to teach our children in home Bible studies and devotionals each and every day.  If we make sure they go to school to learn math and English, how much more important it is to make sure they are studying the Bible every day!  The physical body will not last forever, but the soul will (James 2:26, 4:14; II Corinthians 4:16; I Peter 3:4).  Let’s make sure we are doing all we can to make sure that if the Lord wills for our children to grow up to reach the age of accountability that they become Christians, and that they stay faithful throughout their lives, so that we can be in Heaven with them (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4).

There is a great need to teach our neighbors, our friends, our family, and our co-workers the Gospel through our conversations with them, there is also a great need to teach in the Bible classes offered by congregations.  The church is the pillar and the ground of the truth, I Timothy 3:15.  We ought to avail ourselves of the opportunities to study in Bible Classes with a faithful congregation of the church of Christ.  I am thankful for the good classes offered by congregations of God’s people and for the sound preaching being sounded forth from many  pulpits in this and other lands.  Likewise, I am thankful for the classes offered at Tennessee Bible College (TBC).  TBC offers both on campus and online classes.  At Tennessee Bible College, you will receive intensive, quality instruction in the Bible.  TBC offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study.

Christian education is of lasting importance.  We know that we must grow in the knowledge of our God continually to have the happiest life here and the happiest life in eternity in Heaven (II Peter 3:18, John 10:10, Matthew 25:46).  Let us never stop learning about God and His Word!  May we learn every day, all along the way about our Father and His Word!
