Are you hitting the mark in your walk with Christ? The Bible shows that sin is missing the mark—choosing the wide, easy road instead of the narrow path Jesus calls us to follow. We can’t guide ourselves; we need God’s direction. His Word is clear, true, and leads to real peace and faithful living. If you want to stay on target, Jesus is the only way.

David Hill: We understand very well what it means to hit the bullseye—the very image used by the Holy Spirit to describe our walk as Christians: “Pressing onto the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14), guided by the Word of God (Psalm 119:105).

To sin is to miss the mark—to fail to do that which is good (James 4:17). Jesus depicted it as a choice between two roads: a superhighway or a narrow, difficult road (Matthew 7:13-14). The one most appealing is not the one He recommended, teaching us that following Him is difficult. It’s challenging. To miss the mark is to transgress the law of Christ (I John 3:4).

Want to hit the mark? Jesus is the way (John 14:6). From old times we learn it’s not in man to direct his steps (Jeremiah 10:23); we must have God’s direction.

The target’s clear (John 8:32). God’s Word is truth (John 17:17). It’s not confusing(I Corinthians 14:33). It’s the way of peace, the way of the faithful. I’m David Hill.
