As we celebrate the 4th of July and reflect on the sacrifices made for our nation’s freedom, we’re reminded that the greatest freedom comes through the Gospel. Jesus offers liberty not just from earthly oppression, but from sin, guilt, and death. In Him, life gains clarity, peace, and eternal hope—true freedom that endures beyond this life.

David Hill: You know, many have given much in pursuit of freedom. Hi, I am David Hill. Jesus promises to make one free indeed (John 8:36). Free from sin and death (Romans 8:2). Free from the guilt and shame that comes from living for the world and not for Him. Free from wondering.

In Matthew chapter five, verse five, Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Meaning that in humble obedience to Christ, the world begins to make sense. You have understanding of what’s going on in this world because you understand what’s coming in the next. Life has meaning, understanding, direction and satisfaction. And the promise that when you obey Christ, there is peace that passes all understanding. That peace satisfies in this world and holds the hope and promise of salvation in the life to come.
