David Hill: The happy life is one lived in humble appreciation for blessings from our benevolent Creator. Hi, I’m David Hill with a Gospel Minute. Our existence depends on God. That’s everyone. Jesus said He provides for the just and the unjust (Matt. 5:45). Even those who blaspheme His name—He gives them air to breathe, food to eat, and water to drink. In an instant, God could end all life, but in His benevolence He doesn’t. We enjoy great freedoms in these United States. Our founders said freedom comes from “nature’s God.” Perhaps that recognition alone accounts for the 249 years of liberty. Houses, cars, and possessions—products of our labor, yes, but blessings enjoyed from the Creator and Sustainer of all things, God Almighty.
The greatest gift ever given was the gift of salvation at Calvary—a priceless gift to those who have put on Christ in humble obedience (Gal. 3:27), living a life like Christ in faithful service, blessing the believer and the world. In this season of holiday and Thanksgiving, remember and be thankful for the One who has provided blessings beyond measure.
Happy Thanksgiving!
