Can We Know the Truth?
Before podcasts and social media, One Gospel Minute was a radio voice reaching listeners with simple, biblical truth. In this Throwback Thursday archive episode, Tennessee Bible College founder Malcolm Hill asks an important question: Can we truly know what is right and wrong in religion?
Many trust feelings, friends, or family traditions, but this message points listeners back to the only true standard — the Word of God. From John 17:17, Malcolm Hill reminds us that God’s truth is not uncertain or unknowable.

Malcolm Hill: How can we know if a thing is true or false in religion? Have you ever considered a question like this? There are those who say, “Well, I just don’t know that we can ever know what’s true and what’s false.” Well, if that’s the case, then why on earth did God give us the Bible? Why do we have the Bible if we can never know?
Some people say, “Well, I know that I’m right because I feel right.” Others say, “I know I’m right because my friends tell me so.” Others say, “Well, I’m following my parents. They were good people, and I know that I’m right because they were good people. Their being good, and my following that, means that I’m a good person and a Christian person.”
But really and truly, these things don’t matter when it comes to salvation. In John 17:17, we’re told, “Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth.” In other words, we’re made Christians by the Word of God. We’re made pleasing to God by the Word of God. So will you think about that? I’m Malcolm Hill.
