David Hill: A lot of people are talking about Jesus these days, and I like it. Hi, David Hill. Got a minute?

Many talk about the birth of Jesus in December. There is no record of it, but they’re talking about Jesus—and we should be so all year long. God’s providential plan brought Jesus into the world. Many talk about miracles, but most of the Bible reveals God’s providence working through the natural, behind the scenes, to accomplish His will in the world.

Joseph told his brothers that God sent him before them to preserve life (Genesis 45:5)—providence. The genealogies of Christ record God’s providential plan (Matthew 1; Luke 3). Providence is not a miracle. Miracles are seen. From the beginning to the end of the Bible, the Bible records God’s plan. Jesus is coming in the Old Testament. Jesus is here in the Gospel accounts—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And Jesus is ruling in His kingdom and His church from Acts chapter two on to the end of the Bible.

Jesus came right on time (Galatians 4:4). God’s providence is real and working today. The apostle Paul said God’s care would preserve him unto the heavenly kingdom (II Timothy 4:18). That’s the Gospel.
