David Hill: Peace, perfect peace. A beautiful verse by Edward Henry Bickersteth.
Got a minute? Peace is mentioned a lot during the holidays, as is Christ. Christ came that we might live in peace, even in a non-peaceful world. But how? Maintain a clear, good conscience (I Peter 3:21). The apostle Paul said he did (Acts 24:16). Be at peace with yourself.
God forgives those who repent and obey the gospel of Christ. He forgives thieves (Luke 23:43), sexual offenders (I Corinthians 6:9), murderers—even those who murdered Christians (I Timothy 1:15). He forgave those who crucified His Son (Acts 2). And He’ll forgive you if you’ll let Him.
Sometimes we have trouble forgiving ourselves. Live a Christ-centered life in all things (Matthew 6:24–34). Jesus doesn’t want you part-time. He wants you full-time—100%. As the old year ends and the new one begins, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and trust Him fully to take care of you.
I’m David Hill.
