People often look to professions, platforms, and personalities to change the world, but when God set out to save mankind, He chose something far simpler—He sent a preacher. Jesus came declaring the good news, teaching the saving message of God in its simplicity. While man has complicated that message over time, the truth has not changed. The Gospel is still the power of God to save, and it’s time to get back to the basics.

David Hill: Ever thought about it? The profession God chose to save the world?

Hi, David Hill. Got a minute? When God set out to save the world, He didn’t send a lawyer. He didn’t send an entertainer. He didn’t send a coach, a doctor, or an events coordinator—not a contractor. He sent a preacher of the gospel. That’s what Jesus said His profession was (Luke 4:18).

A master teacher who lived and taught, in simplicity, the saving message of God. Other than regarding the Temple of old in Jerusalem, Jesus never said a word about a church building. He simply taught the saving message of the gospel. Over 2,000 years, the message has gotten very complicated, hasn’t it?

God didn’t do that. Man did. The truth is simple, and you can know it. Jesus said that (John 8:32). It’s time to get back to the basics, don’t you think? That’s the gospel.
