In a season when the world forms its own versions of Jesus, this message brings clarity by presenting the Christ of Scripture—the Christ who faced resistance, challenged hypocrisy, and lived with unwavering conviction in the face of conflict.

This message comes from years gone by, originally delivered by Malcolm Hill, the late founder of Tennessee Bible College and the creator of the One Gospel Minute broadcast. Though he is no longer with us, his voice, faith, and dedication to teaching the truth continue to bless and strengthen all who hear these timeless lessons.

Malcolm Hill:  I’m convinced, by and large, that the world has never understood the personality of Jesus Christ—Jesus the Christ of the Bible, the Son of the living God. They seemingly think that Jesus never had any conflict, never had any problems with anybody, that everybody loved Him, that He got along with every group, and that everybody stood in awe with regard to Him; that He didn’t have any battles religiously, that He was soft-spoken and never was angry, never was disturbed, and that He was just, by and large, accepted by one and all.

Now, had He been that way, He would’ve never been crucified. But our Lord was a Lord of conflict. His whole life was filled with many battles religiously, and He had trouble with the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the wicked men of His time. And Jesus is a Christ of conflict, and the Christian is going to have conflict too. Don’t forget that.

I’m Malcolm Hill. This has been One Gospel Minute from the churches of Christ in your area where you are always welcome.
