Satan’s Manifesto for Young People

Nobody knows for sure. The devil has confused young people. They don’t know who or what they are. They don’t know where they came from or where they are going. Screens keep their heads spinning until they have no sense. They ask “Who knows?” and then decide “Who cares?” This is the first lie of the devil. If young and old alike would stop staring at their phones and look up and around, they would see the power and glory of God. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork” (Psa. 19:1). Anyone anywhere can see the hand of God in His creation. There is no excuse for ignoring or denying God (Rom. 1:20).

Religion is a bunch of hypocrites who want money and control. Young people are smart enough to see inconsistency. They know when supposed Christians are living a lie. This angers them, and rightly so. Many of them decide they want nothing to do with religion at all. There are hypocrites and false prophets, but God will deal with them. Jesus said they will receive “greater condemnation” (Matt. 23:14). But young people make a serious mistake when they blame sincere Christians for what hypocrites do. They make an even worse mistake by forgetting that they will answer to God for their own life, not the life of a hypocrite (Rom. 14:12).

There is no right and wrong for everybody. “Morality is a personal choice.” “It’s nobody’s business what you do.” “No one has the right to tell someone else how to live their life.” These lines are popular today because they let people do what they want without feeling accountable for what they do. The devil loves it when society is like it was in the days of the judges: “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” (Jud. 21:25). This idea eventually comes back to haunt people who say they believe it. What if someone steals their car? After all, morality is a personal choice. What happens when human traffickers kidnap and sell little girls as sex slaves? After all, how is that anyone else’s business? Do law enforcement officials have the right to tell these criminals they’re wrong? People today are notorious for saying that there are no absolutes—until someone does them wrong. Then they insist that it was absolutely wrong. They really don’t believe everything is relative. The idea that sex before marriage can be right for one person and wrong for someone else is nonsense. To say we should accept practicing homosexuals and transvestites is as perverted as saying we should accept practicing pedophiles. Remember these words: “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes” (Prov. 12:15).

Your feelings are first. This means your feelings—not anyone else’s. Satan says, “If someone hurts your feelings, don’t talk to that person and try to work things out. Get behind a keyboard and lash out at the whole world.” No wonder our culture is so unstable. Feeling that something is right doesn’t make it right. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Prov. 16:25). Until our society decides to grow up, respect others and submit to God, we will continue to disintegrate.

Old people are idiots. How many times in the past thirty years has a movie or television show depicted children respecting their parents? Satan has been successful with his agenda. Isaiah said the day was coming in Judah when “the child will be insolent toward the elder” (Isa. 3:5). The devil has convinced young people that upright parents are their enemies and older people in positions of authority are to blame for all the problems in our society and are not to be trusted. Things have not worked out well for young people with this rebellious attitude. The Bible teaches that if young people want to have a good long life they need to do what their parents say (Eph. 6:1-3). Older people are not right all the time, but the school called life has taught them more than a young person knows.

Thank God for parents who stay the course with the Bible as their guide, and thank God for young people who turn away from the devil’s schemes.
