The Bible answers this question clearly—Jesus came to fulfill the Law, establish His church, free believers from sin, reveal God’s love, bring comfort, and save the lost. His coming is the defining moment in history, shaping the course of the world. That’s the Gospel.

David Hill: Why did my Savior come to earth? A beautiful old hymn—got a minute? The question is a good one and is answered on every page of the New Testament in your Bible. He came to fulfill the law and the prophets (Matthew 5:17).

He came to establish His church (Matthew 16:18), freeing the penitent believer from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2).

He came as an expression of the Father’s love (John 3:16), that we might have everlasting life.

He came to comfort the troubled heart (John 14:1-4).

He came to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).

The history of the world revolves around the coming Savior. Do you believe it? It’s true.

That’s the gospel.
