Meet Jason Gann, TBC Registrar

Share with us a little bit about your background with Tennessee Bible College and how you have gotten into the position you are now currently with the College.
My association with Tennessee Bible College now goes back 22 years to the year 1999, when I entered the college. My parents and I were at a hospital in Nashville with my Grandmother, who was sick at the time, and Glenn Ramsey encouraged me to attend this college. My parents had known him from the time that he served as a preacher in McMinnville. It was not long until we came to the campus to take a tour. I soon enrolled, went to orientation, and took my first classes at the college. I was impressed with the college from day #1. I was thankful to graduate from TBC with the Diploma of Preaching on June 15, 2002 and with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible on June 10, 2005.
I served as a Counselor and a Teacher with the Tennessee Bible College Truth Camp for youth while still enrolled as a student. Ten years after first enrolling in the college as a student myself, in 2009, I was asked to serve as a member of the Faculty of Tennessee Bible College as a teacher of online Bible classes. I have served and continue to serve as a teacher at TBC for the past 12 years. In 2011, I was asked to lead the Truth Bible Day Camp for ages 9-11, and have served in that role for the last 10 years.
Being able to help people grow in their knowledge of the Bible and helping to encourage them to always live for the Lord is very rewarding. I always enjoy hearing from my former students. It is thrilling to hear that there are those who have gone on to be Gospel preachers and Bible Class teachers.
In 2020, I was appointed Registrar of Tennessee Bible College. I appreciate very much this promotion. I am happy to serve in this additional role.
Briefly expand upon your role as TBC’s Registrar.
As Registrar, I oversee the enrollment of students into the college and manage applications. I help their enrollment to be a smooth process as I answer any questions that they have and offer any feedback that they need. Tennessee Bible College receives much communication from the community and the world via the Internet, so I offer feedback related to courses and programs of study. I assist the Dean in various other works.
What is the most common question(s) you receive from prospective students?
The most common question that I receive from prospective students relates to what courses of study are offered at Tennessee Bible College. I am always happy to answer any questions that students may have, and this like so many other questions is a very important question to answer. The answer is that TBC offers undergraduate and graduate programs of study. TBC offers the two-year Diploma of Preaching or Diploma of Bible Teaching. This program covers half of the undergraduate program. Upon earning this, Christian students may go out better equipped to spread God’s Word. Upon receiving this Diploma, often students will determine that they want to complete the full undergraduate program of study, which is the Bachelor of Religious Education (B.R.E.) program. These students will continue their studies to earn this Bachelor’s degree. By earning this degree, students will have received college-level instruction on every book of the Bible, along with other courses.
Also, I must add that Tennessee Bible College has a Graduate School offering two graduate degrees: Master of Theology in Christian Doctrine and Apologetics and the Doctor of Theology in Christian Doctrine and Apologetics. These programs of study are research-oriented with a practical thrust allowing students to be thoroughly equipped to defend Bible Truth effectively.
What is one of your favorite memories from being a student at Tennessee Bible College?
I have so many wonderful memories of my time as a student at Tennessee Bible College. I studied at the College for six years as a student, and I enjoyed every minute of my time. One of my favorite memories as a student is actually my memory of every class in which I was blessed to be a part. In each class, each day that I was a student, I knew that I was being taught by teachers who loved God’s Word. Sitting there listening to them teach God’s Word in sincerity and truth meant so much to me. Participating in the activities of the class was always a joy. Then, the friendships that came as a result of these classes among teachers, students, and others, I will always cherish. In the Bible classes, we were always taught the Word of God using book, chapter, and verse to provide the evidence for that which was taught. They taught us by word and example to teach the Truth in love. I appreciate these wonderful times.
Since you are the first point of contact with students at TBC, you must hear from them some similar remarks as to why they are looking to study at the College. Can you share with us some of their reasons to study and how TBC can help fulfill their education goals?
Students have varying reasons for wanting to attend Tennessee Bible College. Some are young men wanting to grow in their knowledge of the Word of God to be better equipped to powerfully proclaim God’s message. Some are older men who see the need for more Gospel preachers and come here to receive the kind of quality instruction that will help them to dig deep into God’s Word to be better prepared to preach. Some are already Gospel preachers, some who have preached for a few years and some for many, who just want to further their understanding of the Word. There are ladies who deem that they want to be better Bible Class teachers and are desiring to find out ways to better reach their students.
Some desire to attend classes here in an effort to just simply be better Christians. These are just a few of the reasons that students want to attend at Tennessee Bible College.
Tennessee Bible College can help fulfill anyone’s education goals of being better equipped to preach the Word of God, teach the Word of God, and work in various ways in Christian service. This work has gone on since 1975. Matthew 7:13-14 says, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” There are so many in this world that need to be pointed the way unto salvation. It is the work of each of us in the church of Christ to be working to do this, because truly the church is the pillar and the ground of the Truth. We need more workers in the Kingdom. We need more young men deciding to be Gospel preachers. We need more young women involved in teaching the Gospel. I am thankful that TBC is involved in helping train preachers and teachers to expound and explain the Holy Scriptures while at the same time impressing upon men and women the need to give themselves wholly to the Will of God in all matters. I am thankful that TBC is training men and women to take the Gospel message to the world, not adding to that message, nor taking from it.
I firmly believe in the work of Tennessee Bible College. It is a blessing to work at Tennessee Bible College alongside great Christian brothers and sisters in serving a student body that is exceptional. I encourage anyone interested in receiving intensive, quality instruction in the Bible to enroll at Tennessee Bible College.
