Truth Bible Camp has over many years shown itself to be one of the most important events in our area. I am certain that this year will be no different. More and more young people are seeing the benefits of this Camp as are more and more parents. It is not an uncommon thing to hear about how quickly the Camp is filling up its numbers, and this year has been the same. This Camp is growing and for that we thank our Lord.
This Camp has had an impact on many young people. In this 50th year of Tennessee Bible College, we look back to the beginning of this Camp in 1998. Back then, it was just for young men training to preach. Then, as time went along, it expanded in 2004 to welcome young ladies. The young men would continue to learn how to preach while the young ladies would learn how to teach. Then in 2008, the Day Camp for ages 9-11 was added to help train young people to be the best young people they can be and to prepare these young people for the full-time Camp.
An untold number of young people have gone through this Camp. Some have gone on to become students of Tennessee Bible College. Some have gone to graduate from Tennessee Bible College. Some have gone on to become husbands and wives in godly homes. Some have become active members of the Lord’s church as a result of the efforts of this Camp. Some have gone on to be more faithful Christians as a result of this Camp. Some have become Gospel preachers and Bible Class teachers. I could go on and on about the successes of this Camp, but what I want to say to you is this: Be a part of it!
Our focus in this Camp is on the Book as young people will spend around 20 HOURS IN THE WORD OF GOD (II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:3). Our theme this year is “Not of this World: “Go Work in My Vineyard.” As Isaiah says in Isaiah 6:8, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” We need more people saying to the call of the Gospel in the Word, “Here am I; send me” (II Thessalonians 2:14). We need more missionaries, more Gospel preachers, more Gospel teachers, more Elders, more Elders’ wives, more Deacons, more Deacons’ wives, and more Christian workers. Parents, we have to start training them for these roles while they are young. Why not allow Truth Bible Camp help you in this endeavor? Young people, come and be a part of a Camp you will never forget!
