Jesus says in Matthew 9:35-38, “And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.  But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.  Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”  Notice, His compassion.  Notice, His love.

The question now arises, “Do you have that kind of compassion?”  I sure hope so!  In I Peter 3:8-9, we are instructed, “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.”  Notice, we must have compassion like Jesus.

My friends, the harvest truly is plenteous.  Jesus made that clear.  This world is full of so much wickedness.  I John 5:19 says, “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”  Jesus has made it clear to each of us that the majority will be lost (Matthew 7:13-14).  The Only Hope that man and woman has is found in Christ Jesus for He came to shed His blood for us that we by grace can be saved through our faith and obedience (I Timothy 1:1,  I Peter 1:17-19, Hebrews 9, Ephesians 2:8, Hebrews 11:6, Acts 2:38, Hebrews 5:9).  My friends, the Bible is clear.  Those who do not obey God will be lost and suffer for an eternity in Hell (II Thessalonians 1:3-10).  The faithful will enjoy the happiness of Heaven forevermore (Matthew 25:46).

The majority in the world is lost.  The harvest is plenteous.  Many do not realize the kind of happiness that they can have in Christ, a life of peace and joy here and a life of peace and joy for all eternity (John 10:10, Revelation 21:7).  Do all that you can to put God First in everything you do!  Realize that so many in this world are wandering about not aware of the joys that await them from living the faithful Christian life!  Reach out to these people with the Gospel.  We need more doing this.  It is my hope that you will have the compassion that motivates you to pray for more laborers to reach out to the lost with the Gospel and that you will also reach out to them!  Say as Paul said by the inspiration of God in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
