God declared very clearly to the people of Malachi’s day: “For I am the Lord, I change not” (Mal. 3:6). There is no shadow from His turning (James 1:17). Neither God nor the things of God can man/woman change no matter how hard he/she may try.

It is nothing short of amazing to see what some of this generation think they can change. Some actually think they can change the designed, created order of the world. Fanciful ideas of altering the sun’s effects on the earth, talking about saving the physical planet from burping cattle, and destructive humans, changing the individual God made by just choosing to identifying as a male, female or an it! These seek to change the truth of God into a lie in an attempt to replace the Truth with “their truth.” It is truly foolishness gone to seed! No matter, try as you may, you will not change that which God has set, period. This is the basis for the Gospel Meeting RENEW 2023.

At 9 a.m. Sunday morning brother Jason Smith of Beckley, West Virginia will address “The Coming Day of the Lord” (I Thess. 5:2; II Pet 3:10). That day will come on God’s schedule and no man will change it. In fact, no man knows when that day will be. This begins the Sunday summary to Saturday’s study of those things no man can change. Welcome back brother Smith, who studied here at TBC 20 years ago and was a member of the Northeast church of Christ. It will be great to see brother Jason and hear him preach the word of God.

At 10 a.m. we honor and will be favored by brother Glenn Ramsey who is really at home. We honor brother Ramsey for 67 years of preaching the gospel of Christ with 42 of those years spent teaching at Tennessee Bible College. For many years he was the “closer” for this program, and he will be this year with the keynote address “What Manner of Person Ought You to Be?” You may be sure, you’ll not hear a better lesson or better prepared lesson than what brother Glenn will deliver. We welcome him and honor his years of faithful service.

The RENEW program is for the building up of the church of Christ. These men along with all on the program will be overflowing, ready to go. Will you be ready to receive the great Gospel feast prepared? Pray, plan, prepare and be involved by attending, inviting others and studying deeply the word of God. This is for you and all invited guests. “All things are ready, come to the feast”!

RENEW closes with singing Sunday night at 6 p.m. At 5 p.m. I’ll provide the chicken and biscuits, and the Northeast church of Christ will bring desserts and drinks! It’s going to be a great time together. Invite others, encourage one another and let’s RENEW our dedication to Christ.
