David Hill: Jesus taught it. He prayed for it. Got a minute? Let me tell you about it. Jesus called all of His believers to be one. He prayed that we might be one, as He and the Father in heaven—unified (John 17). Today, there are as many baptisms as there are churches, and thousands of denominations. Unity? Christ can’t get His name on most buildings. As many churches as there are, you see just as many different names—thousands. Only one name will save you (Acts 4:12). Many are afraid even to speak it. The gospel of Christ teaches oneness. The people of God are not to be divided (I Corinthians 1:10), but we are. Why? Because Jesus likes it that way? You know better than that. He called us to be one (Ephesians 4:3-6). “There is one body and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, through all, and in you all.” The reason for wickedness on every hand? The people of God are divided, and the devil is conquering. Thank you for listening to One Gospel Minute.
