Vessels
Christians bear the Gospel in earthly bodies, just as Jesus did when He came in human form to declare God’s glory (II Corinthians 4:7). Paul encouraged the Corinthians to live for Christ, reminding them that God’s plan is entrusted to those who follow Him. As His followers, we are His hands, feet, and voice, spreading His message. The true value lies not in us but in the power of God within—the treasure of the Gospel.

David Hill: We hold this treasure in earthen vessels. Got a minute? The Apostle Paul encouraged the church at Corinth to live for Jesus (II Corinthians 4:7). Jesus came in a mortal body to declare the glory of God. That was God’s plan. So it is today. God’s plan is committed to those who will follow Him—Christians. Like Christ, we as Christians hold that which is divine and heavenly in mortal form —earthen vessels. We are to be His feet to go, His hands to serve, and His mouth to declare the glory of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is that treasure within that sustains and gives value in the eyes of God—the excellency of the power of God, not in us.
The treasure within—that’s the Gospel.
