Everywhere we find defiance of authority—any and every kind of authority—whether it be the authority of Almighty God, authority of civil government, the home, or the classroom. Today we have more psychologists, psychiatrists, and “counselors” than ever in the history of our nation. But they are not getting the job done. They are placing the blame on the preachers, the churches, and the police force. They are calling in question our basic concept of right and wrong…
In trying to account for street demonstrations, riots, the destruction of multiplied millions of dollars worth of property, along with the shootings and killings in our streets in open defiance of the law, we’ve tried to excuse such violence on the ground that “society is to blame…”
If men want to be free and to earn a good living, then they must respect the rights of others, and they must accept the responsibilities that go hand in hand with such rights. They must also answer for their deeds, whether they be good or bad. Then and then only can we correct our sick society and become a responsible and thriving nation. Then and only then can people walk down the streets unafraid, and hold their heads high, no matter what their race or nationality or status in life may be…
