It is wonderful to know that our Heavenly Father has blessed us in so many ways. Serving the Lord is fun. I believe we can rightly say then that “times flies when you are having fun.”
Colossians 2:2 calls for us to be “knit together in love” and truly we are as a congregation. We as brothers and sisters in Christ are striving to work together. I Corinthians 3:9 teaches, “For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” As members of the Lord’s church, we are the building. The physical church house in which we gather for worship is not the Lord’s church, but we, the members, are the Lord’s church. We are working in unity, following God’s Word, and by so doing, we are working with God. Our ultimate goal is, of course, to meet Him.
I Thessalonians 5:9-10 says,
“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”
Whether we are dead when the Judgment Day comes or whether we are still living on this earth, we will all stand before God in judgment.
John 5:28-29 says,
“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of condemnation.”
I Thessalonians 4:15-17 says,
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
II Thessalonians 1:7-10 says,
“And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.”
This is how the Judgment Day will transpire. We want to make sure then that we are living rightly, because those who do not live rightly will not go to Heaven. We are therefore working together, doing all that we can, seeking to “overflow” in good works as we are commanded in II Peter 1:5-10. May the Lord bless us more in the future and we know that we will be blessed as long as we are working together to meet the Lord on that great Judgment Day yet to come!
