James 4:14 says, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”  This is so true.  Life is so short.  I can definitely say that the years of my life seem to be flying by me.  I thought time went a lot slower when I was much younger and before I graduated high school.  It seems like since a year after high school from 2000 to now that time has really flown.  When I looked back on even my days before 2000, those now seem to me to have flown also.  Time really does fly.
Hebrews 9:27-28 says, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”  We all have a time appointed in which we must die.  Ecclesiastes 3:2 says, that we all have a “time to die,” of course, unless the Judgment Day comes first.  Ecclesiastes 8:8 says, “There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.”  This tells me that there is nothing that we can do to stop our death.  There is no way that we have the power to keep our soul within us when God calls our soul to come out of our physical bodies to go into eternity.
In Job 1:21, Job says, “Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”  After Job’s children die and after he loses many of his possessions, he recognizes that God gives life, and God takes away life.  When God gets ready for us to leave our physical bodies our lives here are over, and there is nothing that we can do to stop our lives from being over here.  Let us make sure that we are living for God each and every day!  Make sure to put Him first in all of your doings.  Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Let us grow closer to our God every day!
