I going to be honest. I’m a sin committer. The good news is God sends righteous people to help me. They tell me of God’s grace as well as God’s justice. Sin is disgusting to God. He does not like it one bit and He will not tolerate it. Addictions to any sin from lying to being a sexual predator, no person is going to escape the righteous judgment of God. I have sins, like lazily not being in the habit of getting out of the house to evangelize my neighbors in the community. I also know that God will give me the strength to prevail and the fidelity to overcome distractions. God told Ezekiel,
“I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord Jehovah: wherefore turn yourselves, and live. (Eze. 18:32).
It does not please God to see people die without being saved from their transgressing lifestyles. God does not want to see me on the way to that dark place of eternal torment. So he tells the preacher Ezekiel to admonish and warn me.
Though the preacher warns me it is ultimately my responsibility to turn from sin. God gives me the choice. He might bring chastisement against me but it will be because He loves me. His discipline corrects my misjudgment. Fortunate for me, my children will not be held accountable for the mistakes I made in parenting. It’s also a benefit to me that the LORD will not hold me accountable for anyone else’s sin, including any child that I reared. Hear God’s word to Ezekiel,
“The soul that sinneth, it shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. (Eze. 18:20-21.)
Here’s the thing to get with this good news. Jehovah wants me to take this exciting opportunity and share it with my brothers and sisters to help them recover from their lusts for sin. I have no idea what might be going on in your life my friend but listen to this:
“I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord Jehovah. I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them in justice.” (Eze. 34:15-16.)
Isn’t it good to know that God is concerned about us? Yes, it is. God is seeking for you just as for me. The LORD is our shepherd. We will only find satisfaction in this life with Him.
