Truth Bible Camp is almost here.  Young people, ages 9 to 18, from far and wide plan to converge onto the campus of Tennessee Bible College on June 11-15 for the annual camp.  The theme for this year is, “Remember Your Creator.”  The focus of our camp is to always be true to the Word of God, and we see this focus within our theme.  This camp is a special time of training for our youth as those of the ages of 12 through 18 will be involved in the full-time camp, which lasts the duration of the camp, and others of the ages of 9 through 11 will be involved in the day camp, which will begin on June 12 and go through June 15.  This is one of the highlights of the year for many young people!

Our campers will be focused on the words of the Holy Spirit through King Solomon taken from Ecclesiastes 12, verses 1 through 6, along with other passages of Scripture throughout this camp.

In Ecclesiastes 12:1-6, we are told, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them; While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain: In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened, And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low; Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets: Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.”

Lessons pertaining to remembering the Creator will be applied in the various activities of our youth’s lives from school to work to sports to handling money to relationships, just to name a few.  Also, our full-time campers will focus on learning how to present lessons.

Our camp is for both young men and young women, and it is a place for the cultivating of great friendships.  Lives are impacted every year by this camp.  This is why our hearts are filled with joy to learn of our campers who have gone on to become Christians, preachers, and teachers.  Just last year, various Day Campers went on to put on their Lord in baptism soon after our camp had ended, according to reports given to me.  It thrills our hearts to hear of good news such as this!

I ask, how many opportunities in this area of Cookeville, TN, do we have for hours and hours of training in growing more Christ-like and in fun-filled activities and games with like-minded youth who are focusing on becoming more Christ-like over the summer?  There are not many opportunities like this in our area.  This is why youth will come here and often return year after year.  Our numbers, truly, are growing!

It is with all of this in mind that I say to you, young people, that if you want to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, this camp is for you (II Peter 3:18)!  I say to you parents, grandparents, and guardians, if you want your pre-teen or teenager to grow more for Christ, and you want a camp to help you in this, then this Camp is for your child or grandchild!  From games to crafts to the lessons taught and the times of singing spiritual songs, this camp will provide for times in which our youth will make memories that will last a lifetime.  Visit here to register now!
